Earning on Medium

I learn, earning is about how long people read, and the percentage of reading, am I right?

An 11 minutes story, average read 1 minute, counted as 33% read. And 3 people that read average 1-minute lead to 0.09 cents.

So, I think some read long till the end, some very short, thus the average on 33%, maybe means read till bottom, because 1 minute is not a third of 11.

Earning is about long readers.

Well, I think it is. So, earning then means, you need a long story that some will read long enough.

Fast readers are counted as no readers, that is perhaps not a correct way to measure where people read a lot. Where people easily fast read, like on

Medium, people read lots, and nothing is counted as reading. Maybe that is calculated in the price paid.

The amount when earning is a good amount, but lots will not count as being read.

So, I think all stories earn overtime when you keep sharing and using the links to your articles on your new articles. Soon, you’ll find readers that will be counted, and read slow enough to be making you earn.
